This is a project I am starting to honor my sweet son Gage, who passed away in July of 2009. We spent a short while in the PICU, both here at Huntsville Hospital and at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital where he had a bone marrow trasplant. While I was there, it occured to me that so many parents are caught off guard and unprepared to be in the PICU. My hope is to create parent bags that have supplies to help them through the first few days away from home. Would you please take just a moment to help me?

September Donation

I am working on putting together the Donations for this month. We will be out of town next week, so I will do the drop-off the last week of the month. I have PLENTY of toothpaste and soap this month. Current needs are tissues, pens, and individually wrapped candy or cookies. I really want to make a BIG donation in October. Gage would be 3 years old October 13th. I cannot believe how much time as passed and how much I am missing out on. So in order to honor Gage in October, I am hoping to be able to donate 36 bags. 36 bags for 36 months he would have been here. But I will need your help to get all those bags together. Thank you so very much to all of you who are so willing to help out in this. It means so much not only to me, but the parents whose lives have so abruptly changed by having a child in the PICU. When we were there, there were babies, small children and a teenager. There are many different reason for a child to be in the PICU. Illness, an accident, recovering from intensive surgery, etc. But their parents stand bravely by their side. The parents needs to know they are thought of too. Let's make that happen!!!
